How do I trigger an emergency alert?

Open the Paniq app and tap the SOS button. Select your emergency type (Security, Medical, Fire, or Towing) and confirm. Your location will be sent to the nearest available responder from your subscribed security firm.

What happens if I accidentally trigger an alert?

You can cancel an active alert from the emergency screen within the first few seconds. If a responder has already been dispatched, contact your security firm directly. Repeated false alerts may result in penalties.

How do I subscribe to a security firm?

In the app, go to Coverage → Get Coverage. Browse available security firms in your area, select a plan, and purchase. Then apply the subscription to your household group.

Can I switch security firms?

Yes. Your current subscription will remain active until it expires. You can purchase a new subscription from a different firm at any time.

What areas are covered?

Coverage depends on the security firm you subscribe to. Each firm defines their own coverage areas. You can check coverage for your location in the app before subscribing.

How do I create a household group?

In the app, go to your profile and select Groups. Create a new group with your home address. You can then add family members by their phone numbers.

Is my location tracked all the time?

No. Your GPS location is only shared with the security firm during an active emergency. We do not track your location at any other time.

How do I register my security firm on Paniq?

Visit the Paniq website and click 'Register Your Firm'. You'll need to provide your PSIRA registration, company details, and verification documents. Our team will review your application within 48 hours.

How do credits/tokens work for security firms?

Security firms purchase credits from Paniq. When a user subscribes to a firm's product, credits are deducted from the firm's balance. Firms cannot accept subscriptions without valid credits.

How do I delete my account?

Contact us at privacy@paniq.co.za with your registered email address. We will process your deletion request within 30 days as required by POPIA.
