By accessing or using the Paniq platform, mobile applications, or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Paniq is an emergency response coordination platform that connects users with verified private security firms in South Africa. Paniq is not an emergency service itself — it facilitates communication between users and subscribed security providers.
3. User Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
- Subscription plans are offered by individual security firms through the Paniq platform.
- Prices are set by each security firm and may vary.
- Payments are processed securely through Ozow. Paniq does not store your banking information.
- Subscriptions are valid for the period specified in the plan (typically 30 days).
- Refunds are handled by the respective security firm according to their policy.
5. Emergency Services Disclaimer
Paniq is not a substitute for SAPS (South African Police Service) or other government emergency services.
- In life-threatening situations, always contact emergency services (10111) first.
- Response times depend on the security firm and are not guaranteed by Paniq.
- Paniq is not liable for delays, non-response, or the quality of response provided by security firms.
- Service availability depends on coverage areas defined by each security firm.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit false or prank emergency requests. Repeated false requests may result in fines and account suspension.
- Use the platform for any illegal purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation.
- Share your account credentials with others.
7. Prank Detection and Fines
Paniq uses AI-powered prank detection to identify false emergency requests. Users found submitting prank requests may face:
- Warnings for first-time offenses.
- Financial penalties for repeated offenses.
- Temporary or permanent account suspension.
8. For Security Firms
- Security firms must maintain valid PSIRA registration.
- Firms purchase credits/tokens to enable user subscriptions.
- Firms are responsible for the quality and timeliness of their emergency response.
- Paniq may suspend firms that fail to meet service standards.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Paniq shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our platform, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss of data.
